Alright team, it's time to create good habits, maintain daily activity and prioritize your health and well-being. Easier said then done right? Lucky for you I'm here to teach you about the lessons I've learned over the years and motivate you to create a healthy lifestyle that works for you.
IT'S THE JOURNEY,
NOT THE DESTINATION
It truly is! So much so that I have that phrase tattooed on my side. Take a moment, stop what you're doing, look around you, and be thankful for everything you have that brought you to this place in life. Now, let me tell you about my fitness journey as it didn't start out as most expect.
My career background is project management, now management consulting, and I've been doing that for 13 years. I reached a point in my career that I needed a break from the big city life and decided to quit my job, sell everything I owned and travel the world. At this time I was in my early 30s and thought - why not! During my almost 2 years abroad I learned to slow down, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the smaller pleasures in life - instead of the big pay cheques.
I embraced nature, outdoor workouts and trying new studios in many of the cities I traveled through, which made me more and more interested in taking coaching more seriously. An incredible experience filled with beautiful memories and friendships that I'll forever cherish.
I moved back to Toronto, with the mindet that I needed to do more with my life then to just do project management. It was time I got certified as a fitness coach and see where that journey would take me. Since then I've received a Strive Life certification, Level 1 certification with Exercise Therapy Association and a Pre and Post Natal program design course.

A CURVE BALL
Ha, to say the least! I would have never imagined that a pandemic outbreak would occur. I was then faced with the challenge of keeping my clients motivated and active during strict social distancing government rules while they are stuck at home. I have 3 words.... THANK YOU INTERNET.
Well, thankful for many things, without the internet and the ability to have web-based, real time, video conferencing, this whole virtual training thing just wouldn't be possible.
I was determined to inspire, motivate and challenge my clients with home virtual workouts that they could sign up for daily. My goal was to keep things as close to "normal" as possible. The response from clients has been amazing! They are happy, feeling active, healthy (mentally and physically) are getting stronger and truly feel like they are a part of the community - Coach Jane's Fit Family.
BALANCE & CONSISTENCY
My mantra is focused on having balance and consistency is everything I do. I don't believe in quick-fix magic diets or exercise tricks! It's all very simple, choose to be healthy because you want to and choose how to do that based off what you like and what works best for your life
Balance yourself out. Are you spending 15 hours a day working then feeling completely exhausted the next day? Sounds like you aren't quite balancing your workload or time properly. Are you completely restricting your calories and food intake in hopes to drop a few pounds by next week so you can fit into your fav jeans again? Why not eat a healthy balance of foods and managing your portion control so that those jeans always fit? Feel like pizza - eat the damn pizza! Don't eat pizza everyday though (ha!) but there's nothing wrong treating yourself to the foods or things you love. Just keep that healthy balance.
Consistency is key. Okay, so you've started to create healthy habits and a good balance in your life - excellent! Now, don't stop, ever, or at least anytime soon. Sound hard? It really shouldn't be if you find a way to enjoy it. Imagine a life where everyday you wake up feeling alive, you choose to fuel your body with delicious nutritious food, you choose to do something active, you choose to clear your brain fog by taking time for you..... This is how I live my life. I consistently choose be the best version of myself each day and you need to start doing the same.
